UMR was founded in 2007 by Hentopan (aka Atmapriya) to promote new creative electronic music from

Belgium, the Netherlands, Europe and the rest of the world.

 

The idea of 'Unfinished Monkeys' is based on a scientific theory that man has not evolved from primates but is an embryonic mutation, hence 'unfinished' in its instinct, creating culture, expression, and hence music, as a way to compensate for a lack of instinct. Besides frequently released digital EP's and albums of upcoming talent, we compile VA compilations presenting exclusive tracks selected by Hentopan, a neurodiverse cultural entrepreneur, musician, DJ and visionary artist of the conscious underground.

 

The vision of UMR is to be a collaborative platform for artists exchanging skills and ideas, and a stepping stone for new artists and upcoming talent. We have always kept a non-profit policy and aim at helping artists, as independent releases are hard to draw energy towards.
